At the time of appointment to the Commission, Netty Musanhu was the Executive Director of Musasa Project. She has over 17years’ experience in project implementation and management. She had a brief stint both in government and private practice before joining the Zimbabwe Women Lawyers Association where she served in various capacities. She moved to Child Protection Society as an Advocacy Coordinator. From 2002 to date, Netty has managed programs and projects both within local non-governmental organizations and international agencies including The Lead Program and Actionaid Zimbabwe where she served in various capacities including Sponsorship Manager, HIV/AIDS Coordinator and Humanitarian and Emergency coordinator.
Netty joined Musasa in 2010 at a time when the organization was almost folding. She led a process of redesigning and executing change and leadership development projects. Netty speareheded the fundraising, relationship buiding and strategic visioning and direction of the organisation. Netty is also an excellent communicator, facilitator and negotiator at all levels. She was part of the Anti-Domestic Violence Council until 2015. She is the current Chairperson of the P.V.O board. She is part of the steering committee for the Africa Women and Shelters. Netty was also a board Chairperson of ZIMCET up to 2015. She is an expert for the Culture Action Program under the Culture Fund. She is a trustee of the Masaisai Trust School. She was appointed a Commissioner to the Peace and Reconciliation Commission in 2015.
Netty Musanhu is a holder of Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Masters in Womens ’Law from the University of Zimbabwe.
